Why I Ran

I am a lifelong Arizonan who believes that local politicians can and should work towards making their communities healthier, safer, and more inclusive places for all to live and work. I served in the United States Air Force and Army Reserves and spent over 40 years dedicated to teaching students across Arizona. As a Representative, I will continue to fight for Arizona students, teachers, and working families.

We can change things by investing in rural Arizona.

Issues our campaign supports

  • Fully Invest in Public Education

I have lived experience in education from all standpoints: as a parent, teacher, administrator, and school board member. I have seen first hand how schools have been defunded, teachers’ class sizes have been doubled, and students are used as pawns in political games. When elected, I will vote to increase funding for public schools. We need to attract the best and brightest teachers so our students can remain competitive on a national and international level.

  • Voter Protection

When American students are educated, they become informed citizens who vote in elections. The right for every citizen to vote is the cornerstone of our democracy. As a rural voter – my family and I have spent years voting by mail in safe and secure elections. As a representative, I will fight against those trying to undermine the voter’s trust in our election systems. I will help protect voting rights, the sanctity of our elections, and the right for Arizonans to vote by expanding access to the ballot box.

  • Health Care

My wife is a retired nurse who spent 30+ years serving her patients in Arizona hospitals. Through her, I learned how important it is that people receive good health care. However, I have friends and neighbors who go without care because they cannot afford it. This must change. Every Arizonan should have access to health care that includes affordable prescription drugs. I will help expand access to care when I am elected to the state house.
